Dear Experts, We are in the process of building a new engineering building with a 3m chamber (for emission and immunicty measurement). We are looking for A2LA accreditation after the chamber is built. A lot of test equipment need to be purchased. And a lot of questions arise. What is phase noise requirement for a signal generator to perform 61000-4-3 and 61000-4-6 tests? Since I used a Gigatronics 6082A signal generator before, I use its specifications to look for one. An agent returned to me with a $32k quote and told me if I can lower phase noise requirement, he can find a much cheaper model. An used equipment is not an option as the owner of the company will not approve any used equipment. Personally, I prefer to have a signal generator in a chamber control room to perform 61000-4-3 test and a signal generator outside of chamber area to perform 61000-4-6 test. I am not sure if I can achieve this as I do have a budget limit. Another question: do I need to purchase a directional coupler and a power meter for these two tests? For 61000-4-3 test, since I have a field probe and a field monitor, I think I am OK. For 61000-4-6, this is questionable. Your help is highly appreciated!
