I believe this has been asked and answered a time or two –but
I’m looking for confirmation.
If a component is sent as a replacement part for a system that
legitimately carries the CE mark MUST the component or subassembly carry the
CE mark.
I have a 12 volt pump that is manufactured in Europe and sent to
us and it carries the CE mark – but I don’t know of any standards other
than the LVD that would apply on the component level – and even then it
would only apply by default. It is below the current threshold voltage and I
assume that the manufacturer is just acknowledging that he is aware of the
requirement and meets it because he is outside of its scope (If that makes any
sense to anyone)
