Subject: RE: Microcontroller memory erased by noise

 Hi all,
 
After many tests and attempts to recreate the problem in the lab, with
partial success, I suggested to the developer to also check the software
(firmware of the on-board microcontroller)

After this the developer went away and became silent for a week or two
and eventually he said he checked the code and it was very sensitive,
and that fixing it eliminated the problems:

1. The code which communicates with the host computer was easily
diverted into a state of "inactive hang" by erroneous commands
2. The code which writes to the flash allowed long periods of time
window when the flash was writable, and did too many unnecessary writes

By the way, the code was written by a subcontractor, and the developer
did not have enough insight in it in the beginning
 
Seems like the problems were solved
