I made microwave popcorn (new stuff at the time for me). I put it in for 5 minutes (what package warning?)it started a small fire in the microwave (smoke everywhere)and I knew it was me. Through all the smoke one of the guys says " I think the world is coming to an end" I ask "Why?" He says "Well ,our safety engineer just put microwave popcorn in the micro for 5 minutes and almost burned the place down and we don't have anymore popcorn. I think what was intended to be 22 seconds became a neglected 22 minutes. We had a stainless steel industrial microwave so we didn't burn down the building, but it reeked for days (and BAD). Highly not recommended in any place you spend time regularly. A small potato left in a running microwave for a long period can give a wonderful insight into the way that carbon based matter changes state with prolonged exposure to energy.
