Dear All,
In an 'Coil craft' application note it is mentioned that the
'voltage drop limit across the inductor' = Irms X ESR.
Irms : Maximum current rating of the inductor
ESR : Effective Series Resistance at the operational frequency.
In second order filters under series resonance state, certainly the voltage
appearing across an inductor will exceed this value. Does it mean that these
parts are not suitable for filter circuits? What if the voltage drop across
inductor exceeds this limit?
