Hi John and all No EN 60945 does apply because it covers EMC requirements for all bridge-mounted equipment, which I just found out. But this still leaves me with the electrical safety question:
For CE marking I think EN 61010-1 will apply But for products under the marine directive what electrical safety standard will apply (only EN 60945 ??) And what about the US and other parts of the world. Can someone give me input. I can see that many marine equipment manufacturers have certificates >from different bodies but they all refers to IEC 60945 (and IACS E10). So EN 60945 doesn't apply, since it is specifically about navigation equipment. -- OOO - Own Opinions Only.
