Hi all I'm investigating the use of EN 60945 for an echosounder which is used for scientific purposes and not navigation. Therefore the product needs only a CE mark in EU. EN 60945 is under the EMC directive but it set requirements to a lot of environmental and other test too, is it then correct only to use the EMC requirements from this standard and the EN 61010-1 for electrical safety and don't care about all the other requirements in EN 60945.
On the other hand if the product will be required to comply with the Marine directive will EN 60945 cover electrical safety too. When normally using EN 60950/61010-1 etc EN 60945 seems very "thin" concerning electrical safety, but it doesn't refer to other electrical safety standards. Have I missed something ?
