'Good cable' is not a very useful concept in isolation. So much depends on how equipment launches energy on to the cable and how it is accepted by equipment at the receiving end. The most obvious factor (but not the only one) is common-mode energy. A very well balanced and shielded cable carrying high common-mode energy will radiate from the shield like a single unshielded conductor. You really need to say, 'When connected between sending equipment that does X and receiving equipment that does Y, cable type Z works well [or badly] in EMC terms.' -- OOO - Own Opinions Only.
