That really sums up everything wrong about the current consumer market
and goes totally against the "sustainability" philosophy we are now
being driven to adopt...............it's as bad as changing your car
when the ash tray is full........ :)

My Epson D88 tells me the cartridges are not original even though they
are but continues working - so much for being smart

It appears that no-one has yet bothered to clone the identifier chips in

ink cartridges. I suspect that the market for phone batteries would 
justify the effort, which is why I suggested a code-based security 
system.
