Hi Neven, I have talked to a manufacturer of the TLISNs and they recommended using a two balanced pair for 10/100 Ethernet and four balanced pair for Gigabit. The two balanced pair will accept 8 wires but only 4 of them go through the network while the others are passing straight through. It makes sense to me to use the 4 balanced pair for all Ethernet. Ghery pointed out that the TLISN is decided by how many wires the cable has and not the number of wires used. Why would they suggest a two balanced pair unit for 10/100 when all the Ethernet cables have 8 wires? Thanks, Tim Pierce
