Derek, I agree that MIL-STD-704E does not adequately control the ripple source impedance. You are likely going to use your CS01 test set-up, so why not just do that and be done with it - that's what most people with a -461 capability do. Just use the CS01 amp and coupling transformer, but instead of the 0.5 Ohm load, you use a resistor that draws the same current as the test sample.
There is a curve (Fig. 8) in MIL-STD-704E that shows the ripple spectrum for 28 Vdc power from 10 Hz to 500 kHz. Your CS01 set up will work to at least 150 kHz, but I think it is supposed to work to 250 kHz. MIL-STD-704 is a NAVAIR standard. MIL-STD-704F lists the following e-mail contact: [email protected].
