HI Ken, there are a couple of things in these three paragraphs in your email that still cause me issues:
I'm tasked with 704E, so F, if its better to use... wont help me, I'm still stuck. The ripple voltage... is this measured with an RMS meter, OR, is it the root sum of the squares of the components as measured by a spectrum analyzer? The third paragraph is where I'm not sure what the heck these guys were thinking. The requirement seems to vacillate between setting up the quality of the power delivered to the EUT so you can determine it functions OK with the ripple. But then you get the impression that they are trying to determine what effect the EUT has on bus ripple. Setting up the ripple on the power is fairly simple, but it IS power supply dependent when you switch from the setup resistor to the real EUT. Determining the influence of the EUT on the bus ripple is dramatically influenced by the power supply impedance, BW etc. Non of which is controlled. I guess I'd like to know who I can direct questions to to get "official" answers... Thanks as always Ken for replying! Cheers, Derek.
