Brian, Even if the device is categorically exempt, he can still test for Part 15 compliance, and mark his wall wart to FCC Part 15.19 requirements.

(a) In addition to the requirements in Part 2 of this Chapter, a device subject to certification or verification shall be labelled as follows: (3) All other devices shall bear the following statement in a conspicuous location on the device: This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. As the unintentional radiator (Pt 15, subpt B, sec 15.101) indicates that "All other devices" require a mfr's 'Verification', the FCC ID requirement would not apply. Also as the exempted devices in sec 15.103 only apply to a digital device, I cannot use the appliance exemption. Other than the emissions limits, is anyone aware of special FCC marking requirements for import into the U.S. of wall-wart power supplies that will not connect to an IT or ISM device ?
