Assuming this question is applying to ITE products ...... Here's something I put together recently when struggling with this question on new Directive dates, with the added complication of the changes in EN55022 in latest OJ (EOL = End-of-Life). It applies to product that is currently shipping and that will not undergo any changes:
1) For product EOL before Aug 1 2007: No impact 2) For product EOL between Aug 1 '07 and Jul 19 '09: If it's currently tested to EN55022:1998 - no impact If it's currently tested to EN55022:1994, retest to EN55022:1998 or 2006 before Aug 1 2007 and update DoC to 89/336/EEC to reflect this new standard 3) For product EOL between Jul 20 '09 and Sep 30 '09: If it's currently tested to EN55022:1998 - issue new DoC to 2004/108/EC on Jul 20 '07 If it's currently tested to EN55022:1994, retest to EN55022:1998 or 2006 between Jul 20 and Aug 1 2007, and, issue new DoC to 2004/108/EC after test 4) For product EOL after Sep 30 '09: If it's currently tested to EN55022:1994, retest to EN55022:2006 between Jul 20 and Aug 1 2007, and, issue new DoC to 2004/108/EC after test If it's currently tested to EN55022:1998, retest to EN55022:2006 between Jul 20 '07 and Jul 20 '09, and, issue new DoC to 2004/108/EC after test If a product is released for the first time after July 19 2007, or an existing product goes through some design changes after this date then you must declare to new Directive and appropriate version of EN55022 at that time. Some of the 'crusaders' even held that you can't put two DoCs, one for the old Directive and one for the new Directive, in the instruction book or packaging of products that you may or may not ship before 20 July! It even degenerated into a discussion of whether that action was legal if the DoCs were on two pieces of paper but not if they were together on one piece!
