I don't think so, in respect of 'equipment ... not capable of being completely assessed prior to installation'. Normally, most of the 'equipment' is placed on the market and taken into service, so it must comply with the Directive as 'apparatus', but there is an exception for equipment specially-made for that particular installation. It IS concerned with cabling and termination at connectors, which can, if incorrect, cause an installation of compliant equipment nevertheless to be unsatisfactory, fin respect of emission, immunity or both. -- OOO - Own Opinions Only.
