Everyone

Just a reminder that the new EMC Directive comes into force today.

All new declarations of conformity must now be to 2004/108/EC, and issued
under 2004/108/EC procedures (extra documentation, information requirements,
etc.). 89/336/EEC is repealed. No new/amended declarations under
89/336/EEC may be issued. There is a two-year transition period for
existing declarations under 89/336/EEC.

See the latest version of the EC Guide Annex 4

A list of harmonised standards under 2004/108/EC was published today.

If you are based in the EEA and change your fixed installations (offices,
factories, etc.) from today in a way that may affect the electromagnetic
compatibility, you must appoint a responsible person and document the good
engineering practices involved in the change (not the whole installation).
New fixed installations put into service from today must have good
engineering practices documentation for the whole fixed installation, held
by the responsible person.

Best wishes
