I suspected that those were the standards involved (61000-3-2 and -3). 
They aren't applicable to systems with voltages around 120 V because 
they don't take into account the different power distribution 
configurations compared with the European.

I referred to the EMC Directive, but the same principle applies to the 
LVD: it doesn't apply to products not for use in the EC.
