Greetings, We have to increase our lab's capability of performing radiated immunity tests according to IEC 61000-4-3 above 1Ghz. We have to go up to at least 2.7GHz for EN61326-1, but would consider going higher if practical and for the future. Currently we can only test from 80Mhz to 1GHz. We perform this test in a 10 meter semi anechoic chamber by lugging in heavy ferrite floor tiles to generate a 3 meter fully anechoic setup. It is my understanding that these ferrite tile will need to be replaced with a hybrid type ferrite/Absorber type of material for testing above 1Ghz. Handling this new material seems like it is going to be a pain and storage will be a problem when using the chamber for emissions. I seek advice, tips, and suggestions from all the lab managers and engineers out there in this regard. 1. Any suggestions on how to handle the floor material; moving, setup, storage, material types, etc.. 2. If we are going to purchase new equipment (antennas, amps, etc.) for 2.7GHz, do you recommend going to higher frequencies, such as 4.5Ghz or 6Ghz? 3. Do you feel the difficulties inherent to handling the floor material, test setup and tear down would justify a second chamber dedicated for Radiated Immunity? If so, do you recommend a full anechoic or mode-stir reverb chamber? Is mode-stir measurement technique an acceptable equivalent to plane wave measurements? 4. Any recommendations for antenna(s), power amps, sig gen, etc.?? (may want to make these suggestions off-line. As always, thanks to all. The Other Brian. _________________________
