Hello all,

I have an interesting EMI simulation problem. We are changing a clock
synthesis part due to the obsolescence of the original by the manufacturer.
I have IBIS data for both the old and new part (same vendor). The problem
is that the available IBIS data for the new part is in a different package
than what we will be using the part in. The only tools I have available are
a couple of versions of freeware Spice and an IBIS file viewer (and a text
editor).

Using the package data in the two IBIS files, the Spice output driver
details and the IBIS rise and fall data, is it reasonable to try to
"de-embed" the unpackaged driver response and apply it to a model of the new
package? In case you're wondering, the reason for this exercise is to get a
jump on the actual availability of the new parts.

Thanks in advance!
