HI Ken, point well taken. One could arge that light bulbs are nonlinear too... and waterheaters at 18 kHz.... That asside, the labs is wired directly to the building incoming power, 500 volts at 100 amps. I'm more concerned the facility filters are not saturating under the high current load, but I can set current draw at 25, 50 1nd 100 amps, seems about the same.
I suspect that out input filter is ringing with the wall filter, the LISN is along for the ride so to speak. My next attempt is to add caps between room filter and LISN to see if I shift the spike left or right. If I see a shift its very telling. If nothing, that also is telling. I'll keep you posted if we go light bulbs or waterheaters though. As an English guy, imagine all the tea I could make with that hot water!!!! :-) Cheers, Derek. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ken Javor" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Cc: "IEEE EMC Discussion Group" <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, November 14, 2007 10:30 AM Subject: Re: Interaction between EUT and LISN and Wall filter > Derek, > > MIL-STD-461 requires that the power source be loaded resistively at the > same rms level as the test sample loads it, to perform an ambient.
