Dear All

It would appear that the measurement of interharmonics is going to be
effectively a requirement from early next year. Otherwise, it will be
necessary to put a qualifying statement in the test report to explain that
the old standard is being used. In addition, in Japan, as far as I can
determine, the Pharmaceutical Affairs Law requires the new version of
61000-4-7. This is only one market segment, of course. I understand that
sales of new harmonics analysers is up in Japan at present.

I have been looking for a new analyser and have only found a compliant unit
>from Voltech this far.

Can anyone recommend an alternative?

Many thanks

Correct. That is why many of us want IEC to use dated references, as
CENELEC does (now).

It doesn't complicate, surely? It allows you not to include
interharmonics. This is because their inclusion raises many more
problems than was realised when the change of bandwidth was made. The
concession will remain until a solution to all the unexpected problems
has been found.

It complies, because if it was tested with the 1991 instrument, it would
pass..
