Maybe you could disguise them as cell towers.

Scrap metal thieves will go after aluminum almost as quickly as they
will steal copper. These days, any metal seems to invite thieves.

RE: "real-world" lightning
protection
Just wondering, but can you use aluminum instead of copper? I have a
barn and the lighting rods and wire are all aluminum. It must work for
the barn has been around 50+ years without being damaged by lighting.

I'm familiar with recommended installation methods for protecting
equipment against direct and indirect lightning strikes, but there are a
number of countries in which you install your earthing system one day,
and the next day someone steals it for the copper.
Does anyone have any experience of providing useful lightning protection
for outdoor mounted equipment under these conditions?
thanks
