heavily focused on NEBS with strong skills needed for OSP cabinets, OSP

JOBHOLDER ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

*5 years experience in designing for NEBS Environmental and/or Product Safety
Compliance.

* Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
required (other related fields may be considered).

* Equipment/Software Skills: Ability to effectively use test and measurement
equipment such as oscilloscopes, Digital Multi-meter, Spectrum Analyzer, or
other associated test equipment required. Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
required.

* Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: No absolute requirements identified.

* Travel Expectations: Limited travel, generally no more than 25%, may be
expected in this position.

* Physical: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly
required to sit; use hands and fingers to handle, feel, type, and write. The

Job Description: 

JOB SUMMARY

The Compliance Engineer will provide engineering services to the various
designs groups within ADTRAN. These services include review and engineering
support to insure ADTRAN products meet the applicable Telcordia or ETSI
compliance requirements. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Review overall design, schematic, and artwork of products during all phases
of product development and testing.

* Develop test plans, perform evaluations, and generate test reports as well
as other associated documentation.

* Support in-house testing in areas such as: AC Power Fault, Lightning Surge
simulation, Electromagnetic Emissions, Electromagnetic Immunity, Environmental
Simulation, Electrostatic Discharge Testing, Vibration or Shock simulation, DC
Power Tests, and other tests as defined by the appropriate test standards.

* Ensure test equipment meets the departmental calibration requirements and
verify proper equipment operation.

* Ensure criteria for appropriate certification programs (Verizon TCWP, ISO
17025, etc) are met as required.

* Develop and maintain expertise in one or more specific areas of Compliance
such as EMC, NEBS, Product Safety etc.

* Maintain knowledge of applicable standards such as GR-1089, GR-63, GR-487,
UL60950-1, EN300 386 etc.

* Prompt and regular attendance is required in order to ensure quality
workflow.

* Other projects and assignments may result and be assigned to accommodate the
changing needs of the department and the Company.
