I know you mean well, Brian, but I don't recall passing any certificates on for review by the list. Don't assume the cert. is out of scope or that the processes of our suppliers aren't independently audited.
The primary issue mentioned was tying the (reportedly) world's largest contract manufacturer's ISO 9000 cert. to a particular customer company's name and product models. I can't see any contract manufacturer buying into that. A highly respected EU product safety test house's product safety cert. for the end-product that explicitly mentioned the factory name and address accompanied factory's the ISO cert. to help tie the package together.
