I remember a VDE-0871 10-year retention period for certification test items. Under that, one would presumably be responsible for repairs if it malfunctioned during an audit. But that is hardly “consumer” items.

Your company might have obligations, as you say, related to commitments you've made to customers via contracts, warranties or guarantees. Regards, -- Lauren Crane (mr.) Specifically how long must we are required to supply a product as a spare or repair item after we declare it obsolete. I have been looking for an answer but cannot find anything. I don’t think there is any rule beyond our own company warranty, but I am not sure. So I am wondering if one of the experts out there, might know something about this.
