Chapter and verse from MIL-STD-464C:

“5.8.3 Ordnance subsystems.

Ordnance subsystems shall not be inadvertently initiated or dudded by a 25
kilovolt ESD caused by personnel handling. Compliance shall be verified by
test (such as MIL-STD-331 or AECTP-500, Category 508 Leaflet 2), discharging a
500 picofarad capacitor through a 500 ohm resistor with a circuit inductance
not to exceed 5 microhenry to the ordnance subsystem (such as electrical
interfaces, enclosures, and handling points.”

Conversation: ESD Models
Subject: ESD Models

Has anyone heard of an ESD model that uses a 500 pF capacitor discharging
through a 500 Ohm resistor? Does this description have a name and some
associated military or commercial standard?

Thanks in advance!
