In Australia, all electrical items placed on the market must be safe and meet the essential electrical safety requirements of AS/NZS3820. This calls up the product specific standards such as AS/NZS60950 for IT or the AS/NZS60335.2.X series of standards for domestic appliances. In the case of machinery, AS/NZS3100 or AS/NZS 61010 may be the applicable product standards, hard to know as no specific product description is provided. Electrical machinery does not typically fall into the declared item category which means the formal application to an Australian Safety Regulator for a Safety Certificate is not required.
The above is in addition to the ACMAs’ C-Tick requirements for EMC emissions, applicable to most items based on existing CISPRs or ENs. Regards, Martin. The sectoral annexes inlcudes machine safety requirments. I found also the standard AS 4024.1-2006 Series:2006-06 which includes 26 ISO/IEC/EN standards with 664 pages. So far so good. Does anybody know if Australia requires a specific machine certification? Or is a “EC declaration of conformity” with respect to the machinery directive 2006/42/EC acceptable for the authorities? Place of operation: 2333 Muswellbrook, New South Wales, Australia Has Australia specific safety requirements regarding the electrical equipment (control panels, electrical cables, colours, ect.)?
