A third part certification body shall issue a CE statement for our ITE. Such a statement helps us a lot even outside the European Union.
The certification body ask for documentation which justifies that our rubber gasket (seal the box and lid in our outdoor ITE), complies with the requirements in IEC60950-22 (Information technology equipment Safety Part 22: Equipment to be installed outdoors). So far, we have just given the body the reference to the UL online certification directory which refer it to the UL497 standard. The certification body ask for the UL test report as well, which I assume can be difficult to get. Question: I admit that a certification body can ask for any kind of documentation as long as we talk about voluntary certification. But is it “fair” to ask for test reports when a certificate / listing is in place?
