Dear Niels,
As I know, there is no problem, that is no UL standard.
UL can evaluate your client's product under consideration of risk, that can
occur while using that product.
And after risk evaluation, if need be, perform some test.
Best regards
                         Michał Siudowski

        Dear list members,

One of our costumers wants to get a safety approval for USAand Canada
for a
playground with electronics built in. For instance a climbingframe/jungle gym
with small electronic buttons built on. The buttons areconnected to a
controller situated on the playground.

Only in concern is the safety of the electronic part of it,as th e
mechanical
part is being taken care of by the costumer.

For safety in Europe we recommend EN 60950-22 and EN 60950-1.

Two NRTL's have been asked and both have said that there isno standard
and
both say that they can/will not do an approval for US/Canada.

What standards would you recommend for US/Canada?

If there is no UL/CSA standard for a product, what do acompany do for
selling
in US/Canada?

        Regards,

        Niels Hougaard
