Dear list members,
One of our costumers wants to get a safety approval for USA and Canada for a playground with electronics built in. For instance a climbing frame/jungle gym with small electronic buttons built on. The buttons are connected to a controller situated on the playground. Only in concern is the safety of the electronic part of it, as the mechanical part is being taken care of by the costumer. For safety in Europe we recommend EN 60950-22 and EN 60950-1. Two NRTL's have been asked and both have said that there is no standard and both say that they can/will not do an approval for US/Canada. What standards would you recommend for US/Canada? If there is no UL/CSA standard for a product, what do a company do for selling in US/Canada?
