First and foremost you need to check your product specific standard to
determine if it references other standards which might address outdoor
requirements
 
If there is no reference to another standard, I would pick a standard such as
the IEC 60 335-2 series and particularly for equipment that you know is being
used outdoors; this could be a standard for swimming pool accessory equipment
or a fountain pump or other similar product used outdoors. Surely these
standards will address outdoor requirements and the wiring/cabling for limited
power outputs.
