Sometimes it is easier to pick up the phone and speak to the Regulation
Engineer and ask your questions directly or send him a fax. The all speak
English.

phone 92-51-2878138 or fax 92-51-2878139. You may need to call multiple times
to get him

Do not call on a Friday as it is a holiday like our Sunday. officers/engineers
come to work about 9-10am so keep in mind the time PST+12 hour difference when
calling Pakistan.

calls to Pakistan are inexpensive about $0.14 a minute if you have a calling
plan.

good luck.

Thanks Ron. Earlier today I spent some time at www.pta.gov.pk
<http://www.pta.gov.pk/> , but I was unable to find information on the actual
technical requirements that typically apply to telecom and/or ITE products.
For example, I would like to know if there are any EMC immunity requirements,
and if so, what those requirements are.

Based on your suggestion, I went back to the site and poked around a
little
more. In the list of government sites there is a link listed for the "IT and
Telecom Division" that sounds promising, but at present that link is dead.

I will check the link again periodically to see if it comes back
online, but
in the meantime I remain interested in any assistance that you or others in
this group could provide.

                Hi Joe,

You should be able to find what you池e looking for
on/from the
PAKISTAN TELECOMMUNICATION AUTHORITY at www.pta.gov.pk
<http://www.pta.gov.pk/> . With the short list of equipment needing to be type
approved there, you might not need to go through it, but you値l need to
consult with the PTA get any updated info. Please note that that market was
recently deregulated, but licenses might still be quite expensive. However,
you may know this already.

I知 not sure I answered your question, but IHTH.

                Best regards,

                Hello All:

I'm trying to determine what requirements Pakistan has for
telecom terminal
equipment for safety, EMC, and telecom. So far I have not been able to come
up with much. Any insight would be much appreciated.
