I use TD of the R&S ESU to prescan and manually take 6 highest data points.
For the frequency range of 30MHz-1GHz, I setup trace at maximum hold, antenna
height at 1m and 2 m, rotate turntable 360 degrees for each antenna height.
Most of the QP final data is within 1 dB of the prescan PK data. The prescan
takes about 5 minutes (maybe less). For frequency above 1GHz, instead of 2m,
I set antenna at 1.5m.

        Hello Group,

Does anyone have experience with using the Time Domain Scan (ScanFast)
option
on the Rohde & Schwarz ESU receiver?

I have done some experiments and found that the results with a TD scan
are
very close to the results with a regular scan. The TD scan reduces the test
time by quite a bit.

Does anyone know if the TD scan would be acceptable for preview
measurements
during a qualification test? The preview measurement is what takes the most
time.

The only other option is to do an EMI sweep (in S/A mode) but the
frequency
and amplitude are inaccurate. An accurate preview measurement is necessary so
that the proper points can be selected for maximization and final measurement.

        Thanks,
        Tim Pierce
