We own and use a R&S ESU for our Vehicle EMC Measurements, it works very well.
We have also performed much correlation testing and have formulated the
settings in our specifications; this allows my suppliers and commercial
laboratories to also use it for Component Validation. At the present time I
only allow the Rohde unit for this type of measurement to be used.

Thank you.

Subject
R&S Time Domain Scan ESU Receiver

Hello Group,

Does anyone have experience with using the Time Domain Scan (ScanFast) option
on the Rohde & Schwarz ESU receiver?

I have done some experiments and found that the results with a TD scan are
very close to the results with a regular scan. The TD scan reduces the test
time by quite a bit.

Does anyone know if the TD scan would be acceptable for preview measurements
during a qualification test? The preview measurement is what takes the most
time.

The only other option is to do an EMI sweep (in S/A mode) but the frequency
and amplitude are inaccurate. An accurate preview measurement is necessary so
that the proper points can be selected for maximization and final measurement.

Thanks,
Tim Pierce
