I would be very interested in the particulars for Russia. What was the nature of the South American delays ? I have not had any problems with changes to stuff that goes to Brazil or Argentina. Are there specific problems with other South American companies ?

Internationally you will have trouble with name mis-match and I wouldn't limit that to Asia. I have seen huge delays in the former soviet union countries and South America due to name plates and documentation not being identical.
