Maybe I've been scanning postings too quickly. If this has already been
covered I will try to scan the archive for the postings, but I am wondering
about concern with the proposed amendments of RoHS II (early November from the
Parliament Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety,
rapporteur Jill Evans) which would create a new category, category 11 "11.
Other electrical and electronic
equipment not covered by any of the categories above" and which also removes
the "Large-scale Stationary Industrial Tool" exemption - all within amendment
67.

If this proposed change to RoHS II gets through, it seems that anything
connected to the grid or batteries will be in scope (and require CE marking
for RoHS evaluation).

I've seen postings on this in EDN and Electronics Weekly, but no outrage.

Has anyone heard of groups trying organize opposition to these proposed
amendments?
