Though this test sounds like the Surge Immunity test, it is my understanding
that this test (61010-1 § 14.9) is not performed on the equipment while it is
powered up and running. It is a test of the limiting component or circuit
only. The impulse would be placed across the component or circuit depending on
what it is designed to do.

Hi all

 

EN 61010 § 14.9 requires surge tests of equipment with build-in transient
protection.

 

In table 17 the test voltages are listed, but is the test applied between
phase-neutral or phase – earth / neutral – earth or both?
