Peter,
So the deal is this. If you have a product that falls under verification,
Class A or Class B then you are all set. If you have a product that falls
under the DoC process, then you need to become accredited or use an accredited
lab. Examples of equipment that fall under the DoC process are Personal
Computers & Peripherals sold into a Class B environment (residential), & Radio
Receivers operating under Part 15 (I think there are a couple of other classes
that fall under DoC, but these are the main ones). You can find concrete
decryptions of what falls under Verification vs DoC on the FCC website or in
Part 2 & 15 of the Code of Federal Regulations. www.fcc.gov/oet/ea

And since I am responding, Barry gave a better description of
Accreditation requirements :-)

Thanks guys for the info, but I guess my question is that what benefit this
site registration gives me if I can not test our product in our newly
registered site? I am bit confused between self delcration and DoC. Are they
different? and bottom line, can I use my own test data toclaim compliance?

Plus accreditors that are part of the ILAC (?) MRA.
