I agree, GR is likely only part of the picture, but a more complete picture than offered by Newtonian physics. It too will be replaced by a still better model sometime.

Not that relativity is sacrosanct. Special relativity is like Euclidean geometry, a powerful mathematical concept, but not related to the real world. (Euclid isn't true on a quasi-spherical Earth and SR isn't true under gravity.)
