To all,
I have sad news to convey of the passing of Dave Sterner. Dave was a frequent
contributor on this list server.
Dave Sterner was the Long Island Section IEEE Pulse Newsletter Editor and
a past Chapter Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Long Island Electromagnetic
Compatibility Society. Dave was a prominent member of the Long Island EXCOM
(Executive Committee) and was well liked by all. Dave was the kind of person
that no one ever had a bad word for.
Dave passed away while scuba diving in Mexico. Dave was an avid scuba
diver and went on many diving trips, he was doing something he loved and that
is all anybody could ask for.
I had known Dave for a long time as we were both in the EMC field.
I would see him at the EMC national symposium.
I am a very big fan of the late musician Warren Zevon, who when upon
hearing he had inoperable mesothelioma said that the lesson he had learned is
that we should “Enjoy Every Sandwich.” I think that it is a lesson for all
of us “enjoy everyday”.
Dave Sterner, we will miss you.
