Hi Richard,

If the unintentional radiator includes a digital device, refer to FCC Part
15.33(b)(1) under “Frequency range of radiated measurements”. With the
180MHz clock, the upper RE frequency is 2GHz. If the unintentional radiator
excludes a digital device, refer to FCC Part 15.33(b)(2), which imposes other
frequency limits.

In addition, you should download the latest 2008 version of FCC Part 15 at
http://www.fcc.gov/oet/info/rules/. Or was 2002 a typo?

IHTH.

Best regards,

Ron Pickard

Subject: Question regarding 47CFR FCC part 15: 2002

We have a class B unintentional radiator with a 180 MHz clock in it.

Should I be concerned with radiated emissions above 1 GHz?

What sections of FCC regulations apply?

What is the acceptance criteria?

Any guidance on this is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

W. Richard Gartman, MS, CSP
