Dear Brian, We, as I stated, are all the EMC Assessors with contract with A2LA at that moment, no publication but many of those guys are also sitting on the A2LA accreditation Council and would apply this rule to the benefit of the lab if an assessor do not follow it.
It is applicable to anything an assessor can measure on site and decide to cite a deficiency or not in particular distances, like in the topic of this subject. If you prefer arbitrary or, worse, no tolerance at all, fine... Just let me know... Whom or what body is 'we' ? Where did you publish this requirement ? What/Whom reviewed and/or approved this numeric ? "...if the parameter is off by less than +/-5%." What is the physical basis of this percentage ? Applicable to all scalar and vector quantities ? Does this apply to verification and validation ? Percentage of what ? of full scale ? of reading ? of a 'correct' reading ? > -----Original Message----- > From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]]On Behalf Of Benoit > Nadeau > Sent: Wednesday, April 01, 2009 6:25 AM > To: [email protected] > Subject: RE: 10cm above GRP requirement for 61000-4-6 > > Bonjour à Tous, > > Being an A2LA Assessor, I can provide this group insight to > on a common (at > least with this group of Assessors) approach that we adopted > year's ago. > > We decided that when a standard does not provide any > tolerance on a specific > parameter, we shouldn't cite any deficiency if the parameter > is off by less > than +/-5%. > > Regards, > > ========================================== > Benoit Nadeau, ing.
