John. I think I answered this globally so I'll just do it locally for the moment. My humidity was a little on the low side, about 28% and theirs was closer to 38% or so. I would anticipate that might results would be the most harsh, but I am watching that as well. I was working in a Japanese factory on a design many years ago. The factors have no air conditioning of any type, and in the summer they have the windows open. I could absolutely tell when a storm unleashed rain, the humidity shot up and my ESD results got better.

Any coorelation to pass vs. fail? A recent related (I think) incident. A neighbour brought me a display that was stuck in HDMI mode. None of the touch controls worked. But everything worked four hours later. I concluded that, even though the display had been in a heated house all the time, there had been condensation internally when it was moved from one room to another. So I think that VERY careful climatic control is necessary when doing ESD tests. -- OOO - Own Opinions Only. See www.jmwa.demon.co.uk SHOCK HORROR!
