 The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Center For Devices and Radiological 
Health EMC and Wireless Laboratory Facility is in full operation at the FDA’s 
growing campus in White Oak Maryland.


The facilities are impressive and showcase state-of-the-art capability. The 
Washington/Northern Virginia EMC Society Chapter has arranged for a tour and 
overview of the lab’s capabilities for interested members and guests of the 
IEEE EMC Society.


Don Witters, a biomedical engineer and Chair of the CDRH EMC-wireless working 
group, will give an overview of the current laboratory projects and 
capabilities. These include wireless medical device research, medical device 
EMC testing with emitters such as RFID, and Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) 
measurements and research. 

TO ENTER YOU MUST RSVP and:

1. Be a US Citizen

2. Bring Valid Identification 

Guidance on Parking: See attached map of the FDA Campus. There is limited 
visitor parking at the Northwest parking area near building 22 and at the 
Southeast surface lot with shuttle bus.  The lab is in building 62 that you 
have to enter via building 66.  It is recommended that you come to the main 
entrance near the circle in front of building 66 where the shuttle bus stops.
