I notice that the moulded BS 1363/A mains plug is commonly fitted with a 13
A fuse and marked 13A even a 0.75 mm2 mains cord is used. According to EN
60065, 60950-1 or 60335-1, the rated current of 0.75 mm2 cord is up to and
including 6 A or 10 A under restricted conditions. In BS 1363, the maximum
fuse rating states the use of uniform 13A fuse from 0.75 1.5 mm2 cord
except 0.5mm2. Is there any reason behind not to use 5 or 10 A fuse with
0.75mm cord?

Thanks and regards,

Scott
