My copy of  AAMI60601-1-2 3d ed has same requirements as 2d ed, at least for 
stuff my employer makes, but with addition of risk management.

Looking at CENELEC page for FprEN 60601-1-2:2012, do not see any dates or 
status other than 'approval stage'. So do not think that we will see this for 
another three to five years. If stage code = 5060, why has the TC not said 
anything?

I see no ANSI/AAMI activity for 4th edition - anyone know status or intentions?

Correct.

However it should be noted that IEC 60601-1-2, 4th edition will be sent out in 
the next few weeks for final vote.  Many changes (some very significant) are 
being proposed so stay tuned.  We expect to know the outcome of the voting by 
early February.

I don't believe there were any significant changes when the EMC portion of the 
generic medical standard was changes - limits, tests et all remained the same 
etc. It was primarily updating to change with 60601-1 generic safety correct?
