I'm assuming the goal of your customer is to save a few bucks on the testing. This is where you turn on the Used Car Salesmen mode (no offence) and offer them a onetime deal they cannot resist to test all AC Mains ports separately as it should be done. They feel like they got a good deal and you tested the product they way you feel most comfortable. Once the precedence has been set, they will test all ports separately in future visits.
On the other hand, I often get customers who come in wanting to test 100 different modes and configurations. Once they figure out how much time that will take, they look for shortcuts in our testing procedures to speed things up. Then six months later they call you wondering why your test report seems incomplete for those tests. Don't let them push you. Take the time to perform and document the test the way you ran it each time. If they only want to look at one frequency, fine, but take the time to properly document it. The customer would like to claim that they sell a power strip with the system, and all four power cords plug into the strip and therefore only one set of power cord tests needs to be performed for Immunity. For Emissions it is clear per EN 55011 that each power cord must be tested for conducted emissions, for Immunity it gets a little less clear. Should each power cord be tested individually for EFT, Surge, CRFI and VDI, or can I use the customer supplied power strip and perform the testing once.
