John In the face of competition, does BSI still make enough money this way?
Given that legitimate standards can be purchased in minutes via the internet, how does (or perhaps "how can") a pricing policy that doesn't appear to have changed for 20-25 years still stack up? BSI doesn't charge for participation in standards committees, unlike other standards bodies. So, the Government effectively requires it to have another revenue source. Prices of standard from many other standards bodies that DO charge for participation are not significantly lower than BSI's. Estonian govt. wants to make standards easily available to Estonian companies but can't discriminate against other EU companies and anyway is grateful for the income from outside EU. -- OOO - Own Opinions Only.
