A non-radio product is supplied with 12VDC from an external battery. LVD does not apply. As an option, an AC/DC adapter (230VAC to 12VDC) can be use as power source. In such a configuration (adapter + product), I understand from the LVD Guidance (August 2007) that LVD will apply, when accompanying power supply unit is connected.
