Hi A small observation The new LVD and the new EMCD entered into force on 18/04/2014 and will be applicable as of 20/04/2016. The new LVD will replace the existing LVD (Directive 2006/95/EC) and the new EMCD will replace the existing EMCD (Directive 2004/108/EC) as of 20/4/2016.
The new LVD/EMCD applies to products placed on the market (in simple terms, products that have left the factory in the EU or cleared customs, duty paid from outside of the EU) on or after 20 April 2016 (not before). Our test lab send along this note reflecting a change in their policy: During a recent assessment we've been told independent test labs should not be listing the EMC directive on the test report. We only list the standards and the test results. It's the manufacture who must generate the DoC listing the current applicable directive (2014/30/EU). In many cases, the Turks are trying to "stick to the letter of the law" and will not let in anything for which not all the "I's" are dotted and "t's" crossed. I have come across reports both with and without the Directive. Sometimes the Directive when listed, appears in a list of applicable documents but not in a list of standards for testing. You test to standards and the manufacturer deals with the Directive. Probably, the person saw the incorrect Directive reference and flagged it up. A EU Customs official stop a shipment because the EMC Directive noted in the EMC test report was out-of-date. I would like to remove EMC Directive dated notations from future reports.
